New Airline Comes to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announced that the Buffalo Niagara International Airport will host a new low-cost airline, with flights beginning December 5.

“We are pleased to welcome Frontier to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport family,” said Kimberley Minkel, executive director at the NFTA. “Our aviation team, led by William Vanecek did a tremendous job working with Frontier to make this happen, and now Western New Yorkers will have more choices when they travel to these very popular destinations.”

The new airline serves more than 55 cities in the United States, Mexico and the Dominican Republic on approximately 275 daily flights with a workforce of 3,000 employees. The airline is the recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration’s 2015 Diamond Award for maintenance excellence, and they were recently named the industry’s most fuel-efficient airline by The International Council on Clean Transportation.

Flights from Buffalo will include Fort Myers, Florida, Orlando, Tampa, Florida, Miami year-round and Denver, summers only.
