Runway Restoration is a Wrap

Buffalo Niagara International Airport’s $15 million runway renewal project is complete. Upgrades to the crosswind runway help guarantee the Airport will continue its outstanding records of safety and efficiency.

Rehabilitation centered on surface improvements for the runway. They also included drainage, piping, edge lighting and guidance systems. New signs are more visible and better placed. New lighting is LED, reducing energy costs.

Funding came from federal and state sources, in addition to the NFTA itself. The primary contractor was Union Concrete & Construction, West Seneca, NY.
