Happy Birthday, NFTA

Completing the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority’s celebration of its 50-year anniversary, Executive Director Kimberley Minkel visited every major NFTA facility. Two airports, three bus garages, a rail yard, NFTA headquarters, police station, fire station, dispatch post . . . Kim made a valiant effort to thank every one of the Authority’s 1536 employees. And it did not go unnoticed by the staff.

The New York State Legislature created the NFTA in 1967. A public benefit corporation owned by the citizens of the state, the Authority was tasked with creating a safe and cohesive transportation system in Erie and Niagara counties. It is a task to which the women and men here remain devoted.
