Design Team formed for DL&W

Progress continues on Metro’s rail extension into the Cobblestone district, and the redevelopment of DL&W Station. Mott MacDonald NY has come onboard to provide design services, along with WSP USA Inc. and Sowinski Sullivan Architects, and others. The team constitutes an enterprising mix of local and national experience, and from similar projects.

Members of the design strategy team have worked on several relevant rail sites including the E. 55 Rapid Station in Cleveland, the West Haven Commuter Rail Station, and the Franklin Street Station restoration in Reading PA, which redeveloped a 90-year-old rail facility without compromising its historic integrity or charm (see photo.)

Next up – Metro and partners will create a framework for merging the needs and vision of a community that has come to love the trajectory of Buffalo’s waterfront.
