Transporting the public into the future

Moving Forward 2050, a Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transportation Council initiative, is looking at how our transportation systems can benefit specific strategies and targeted transportation projects. A multi-faceted study, it begins this month with a transportation summit.

Once a baseline is established, Moving Forward 2050 will build off it with eyes on the future. It will look at preparing the region for autonomous, connected, shared and electric vehicles and evaluate bus and light rail service. The goal is not a new plan or new transportation infrastructure, it’s a better Buffalo Niagara by 2050.

The official review period for the draft plan is open until April 27. Public meetings are scheduled for April 10 and 12. Click here for more information.
