The Buffalo Airport takes home another award

Buffalo knows snow and those in-the-know know it. The Buffalo Niagara International Airport just took home the Balchen/Post award for excellence in snow removal. The award was presented at the 52nd Annual International Aviation Snow Symposium.

The Buffalo Airport's crew has an unapproachable history of maintaining airfields around the clock, under very challenging weather conditions. This is the 11th time it has been honored in the 41-year history of the award.

Balchen/Post nominations come from aviation professionals around the country and are sorted by an independent selection committee. Criteria is based on an airfield crew's ability to keep the airport runways free of ice and snow, snow removal plans, the size of area to be cleared, equipment readiness, personnel training and safety.
