JD Powers has ranked the Buffalo Airport number one in customer satisfaction among all medium hub airports in North America. The BNIA ranks second overall among all airports throughout North America, missing first place by a single point.

The 2018 North America Airport Satisfaction Study measures traveler satisfaction in North America airports, examining six factors (in order of importance): terminal facilities, airport accessibility, security check, baggage claim, check-in/baggage check, food, beverage, retail. The study is based on responses from 40,183 travelers who used at least one domestic airport during the past three months. Travelers evaluated either a departing or arriving airport from their round-trip experience. The study ran from September 2017 through September 2018.
