For the first time ever, the NFTA acknowledged Breast Cancer Awareness Month by changing Metro Monthly Passes to pink. Partnering with Roswell Cancer Institute, Metro made sure the pass caught everyone’s attention, and reminded riders of the importance of annual mammography for early detection of breast cancer.

The NFTA also turned the water in the two fountains outside the Buffalo Niagara International Airport pink using an LED system and the Buffalo Airport firefighting trucks were adorned with pink decals.

A NFTA Transit Police patrol vehicle was wrapped in pink and officers exchanged their regular badges for pink versions for the month. The Fountain Plaza Metro Rail Station was lit with pink LED lighting, as well.
