Art of the Rail

November saw the unveiling of El Museo’s art-in-transit project, at the Utica Metro Rail Station. The public installation features the work of Obsidian Bellis, Bleu-Ruby Daniels-Taylor, Tyshaun Tyson, and Imani Williamson. After a request for ideas this past summer, the works were chosen through a committee selection process. The chosen works greatly improve the atmosphere at Utica Station, while giving local artists a new and bigger audience.

El Museo is a nonprofit visual arts organization dedicated to the exhibition of contemporary work by underserved artists, and cultural programming that engages diverse communities through the arts and humanities. It grew out of the Latino Arts Collective, formed at the University of Buffalo in 1977.
