Alstom Women of Excellence toured Metro’s DL&W facility this past November. The visit included a detailed look at Metro Rail’s current operations. Alstom, the host of the event, is a world leader in rail technology. The group also received a briefing on the future of rail in Western New York. Alstom keeps its eyes on the future.

Which is the reason for the Alstom Women in Excellence program. AWE was created to advance women in transportation. Their goal is to increase women in leadership roles to 25-percent by 2020. To get there, AWE focuses on education, training, engagement and mentoring.
