Metro Moves More than Passengers

NFTA–Metro Bus and Rail, with the help of Senator Timothy M. Kennedy’s office, has teamed up with the Buffalo Board of Education and the Buffalo Peacemakers, to deliver meals to students’ homes. Metro’s Paratransit Access Line vans normally transport individuals with disabilities to jobs, school or medical appointments. Current stay-at-home orders have freed up some time in the usually full PAL schedules. Metro is putting it to good use, delivering more than 300 meals a day.

Senator Kennedy’s office connected Buffalo Schools, Peacemakers, and Metro to create a chain of volunteers that make a huge difference in lives of families everyday. The women and men of Metro are proud to serve the community in whatever new ways this crisis demands.
