Buffalo Airport Prepares for Travel Increase

As people begin the reopening process, flight travel is expected to increase. The Buffalo Niagara International Airport is using careful precautions to ensure its travelers will be flying safely during the COVID-19 crisis.

The BNIA has implemented proper social distancing techniques throughout the airport, including the taping off of alternating seats in each hold room, floor markings in TSA checkpoint lines, and baggage claim. Social distancing signage has also been placed in restrooms.

Proper sanitation throughout the airport has always been a priority, but additions have been made including anti-microbial stations outside of each airport restroom, baggage claim, and in the baggage makeup area. Moreover, surfaces are sanitized throughout the public areas, completed on each work shift. Plexiglass dividers have been installed at critical areas of staff-traveler interaction such as ticket counters, security line ticket check, food and beverage ordering and retail checkout positions.

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport looks forward to increasing its travel while taking the appropriate steps to enforce proper sanitation, and social distancing.
