There are no painted horses, but your bags will come out faster than ever. The Buffalo Niagara International Airport debuted the first of four new baggage carousels this month. Part of the BUFUp project, the upgrade from conveyors belts helps luggage arrive quickly, and more importantly, safely. Once luggage leaves the top of the chute it never returns to the post-security area. Nor can any curious children or loose pets.

The new carousel was finished five months ahead of schedule – one of the only benefits to the slowdown in air travel due to COVID-19. Construction on the remaining trio of devices continues smoothly, along with the rest of the airport improvements.
