University Station Loop Rehab

In another major step to improve the region’s public transportation, NFTA-Metro is reworking the bus loop at University Station. The rail station itself remains open during construction. Rail riders can use the upper entrance while work is in progress. Bus riders will need to board on Main Street for some routes, and at UB’s Main Circle for others. (Details at metro.nfta.com.)

Construction will widen the bus loop making more room for buses and creating more space for operators to navigate the roadway. This project is part of Metro's continuing enhancement of transit in Buffalo-Niagara, including new bus shelters across the region, new rail stations downtown, and more convenient ways to access transit service.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
